When should my child be seen for the first time?

Colorado Springs Pediatric DentistChildren grow at different rates, but on average, their first tooth erupts between six and twelve months of age. We recommend that they be seen in our office as soon as their first tooth has come in but no later than their first birthday.

Children are not born with a fear of the dentist, and our Colorado Springs dental team wants to show your child that the dentist can be a fun place to go. We believe that the sooner your child is seen, the better the chances that they will not grow to fear us, resulting in better overall dental hygiene.

Good dental hygiene is important to your child’s growth and development. While baby teeth are just temporary, the way that they are treated can determine how their permanent teeth develop. Bad dental hygiene habits can be hard to break, so it is very important that your child learns how to care for their teeth early on.

Let us be a part of your child’s future. Make your child’s first dental appointment today!
